Our History

Riverside Oceanic’s story is intertwined with the history of Australia’s ancient Great Barrier Reef, and we are passionate about supporting the people who are working to save and understand the condition and landscape of our coastline.

Part of the Riverside Marine family, Riverside Oceanic was established to support the important work of marine research through the design and supply of hydrographic and marine research vessels.

As a family business, we understand the strength and importance of relationships. Our generations of experience, knowledge and relationships make us one of Australia’s leading and long-standing marine companies.

We have been the main ocean vessel partner for the Australian Institute of Marine Science (AIMS) for more than 20 years. Our vessels are managed by more than 450 mariners through a partnership structure.

Our partnership model means we are also investing in our crews who run the vessels as their own. Together we are invested in our client’s success, and the future of our oceans.
